PDS has an immediate need for an Application Support Engineer.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Application Support Engineer to drive the integration and implementation of IT solutions.  The Application Support Engineer functions as a technical designer for new projects and for the migration of legacy applications to current technologies. The Engineer has the responsibility to design and/or validate application architectures for service delivery and coordinates the resolution of system-wide outages and ensures appropriate documentation exist to build, install, manage, and support the applications. Assignments are of a dynamic nature; assigned projects and tasks will require broad industry and technical knowledge as well as exceptional organizational, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge of hardware and software technologies with 4-6 years’ experience of relevant industry experience
  • Ability to diplomatically drive a project through to success within a standard process framework
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely while designing solutions to meet business requirements
  • Broad and deep understanding of Application Server, Web Server, Web Services, ESB, SOA, and File Delivery solutions within Information technology
  • Competency for these technologies including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS, SSH, RDP, IPSEC, Key exchange (ISAKMP, IKE, and others), LDAP/LDAPS
  • Experience with hardware Cisco Firewall ACLs, F5 BigIP Load Balancers, BlueCoat Reverse Proxy Servers
  • Experience with software including, IIS 6.0/7.0, .NET Applications, Apache 2.0/2.2,
  • Tomcat, Mulesoft, Java, Alfresco, IBM Websphere Application Server, Software Versioning, Software Revision Control, Subversion, Team Foundation Server, PHP, Drupal, WordPress, Oracle Database, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PHPmyAdmin, Splunk, Active Directory, Marklogic XML Database, MongoDB, Smartbuilder, Log4J, W3C Logging, RHEL/SLES Linux, Windows Server 2003/2008/2013, VPN Servers, Apache Lucene Index Server, Apache Solr Index Server, Apache Hadoop
  • Experience with Adobe AEM (CQ5) or Woodwing Enterprise a major plus
  • Experience with Adobe Jackrabbit or Apache Sling a major plus

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Development and QA organizations to ensure availability, capacity, configuration, governance, and release management standards are defined and implemented
  • Responsibility for many systems that require 24×7 uptime

  • Ensure cohesive integration of technologies and solutions
  • Take directions from senior peers
  • Ensure design, release and support documentation is created
