Title: Instructional Systems Designer and Developer
Job Location: Richardson, Texas
My client has a need for an Instructional Systems Designer and Developer This contract position is in Richardson, TX. You must pass a drug and background test. Job Title Description: This position reports to a Lead Instructional Designer as a member of a cross-functional team and is responsible for analysis, design and development of training materials and courseware. We are seeking a high energy individual with a passion for instructional systems development, customer service or organizational effectiveness. Ability to multi-task, perform under deadline pressures and manage competing priorities is a must. This individual must be able to adhere to a project budget and schedule and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Courseware may be produced for various lines of business including supply chain, export/import control, finance, business development, contracts and environmental health and safety, and soft skills. Learning will be developed for a variety of delivery media including: Instructor Led, Web, Mobile, and Virtual Classroom Training. Tasks may include: •analyzing content •developing a course outline and design document •creating course objectives and identifying supporting content •developing storyboards •creating participant and instructor guides •writing interactive case studies •describing detailed graphic concepts/descriptions •scheduling SME meetings and conducting information gathering meetings •generating narration scripts •copying/pasting content •uploading media assets such as graphics and narration files •proof reading copy •formatting content in accordance with style guidelines •travel may be required to meet with customers or SMEs. Required Skills: •Ability to research content and glean information from technical, soft skill, and business documentation, engineering personnel, or other technical subject matter experts • Experience writing learning and performance-based objectives • Experience writing and organizing content to support learning objectives • Experience applying the ADDIE model and familiarity with agile development • Experience applying knowledge of commonly-used concepts practices and procedures within Instructional Systems Design •Experience organizing content using creative message design principles • Excellent writing skills; (use of language, grammar, spelling, organizing content) • Excellent software skills in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel • Familiarity with web based development such as graphic and narration assets • Familiarity with a Learning Management System. Education: • A Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, English or a related field or equivalent experience is required. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree. Experience: 3 to 5 years This is a contract position for 1 year.
