Title: QA Analyst
Job Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Our client has an immediate opening for a QA Analyst in the Scottsdale, AZ area.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated QA Analyst to join a fast-paced, very collaborative Agile team. The QA Analyst will serve as a technical resource in our Engineering department. Our QA team is crucial to our release process and meeting project goals and timelines. The QA Analyst will evaluate and test our software applications to verify they function according to requirements and acceptance criteria standards. The QA analyst will also attempt to reproduce reported bugs and author knowledge base articles to support our external customers. This QA Analyst position will also play a big part in our Agile software development framework participating in daily stand up meetings and sprint planning. The ideal candidate should be passionate about delivering high quality products and enjoys testing new software.
Responsibilities: • Review, clarify, and understand business requirements and acceptance criteria • Create and execute functional test plans • Verify that software projects were built to requirements • Document test cases, testing results, and defects • Validate reported bugs and identify steps to reproduce • Keep knowledge base articles up to date with latest release features • Spread product knowledge both internally and externally • Participate in ad hoc product demos as needed • Attend daily standup meetings where current priorities and impediments are discussed • Ensure testing status, estimates, time spent, and testing time remaining are accurately tracked in our project management application • Collaborate with engineers for a smooth testing handoff • Streamline department processes to make us more efficient • Help meet timelines and deliver releases on schedule Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5+ years’ experience as a QA Analyst • Acute accuracy and attention to detail • Strong problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Excellent communication, visual, and presentation skills • Excellent time management and organizational skills • Experience testing web applications and software • Extensive experience writing test plans and test cases • Experience in an Agile software development environment is preferred • Experience using Project Management Software like Visual Studio Online, JIRA, or Rally for tracking tasks and user stories • Skilled with using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Skype) • Ability to work in team setting as well as a sole contributor • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or technical background strongly preferred
